This time I had decided that I will not buy a Plantronics product because of lack of product support and also that I will not buy a costly headset. (I almost bought Sony MW-1).

Even though little bit heavier, Plantronics Backbeat 903 was a very good stereo headset. I bought it for my travels. But, after three trips, the connector to the earphone broke making it unusable. After several failed attempt to fix the broken parts, and several failed attempts on getting a replacement part, I saved the Backbeat to my e-waste box.

Last month I bought the TAGG bluetooth stereo headset TAGG-Jogger-Black (Model: QY7 Bluetooth Headphones) through Amazon for INR 1499/-.

TAGG vs Plantronics Backbeat 903.The connector between the ear piece and the remaining part of the Plantronics headset is broken.

The headset came very well packed with the following accessories listed on the page:

1 line hanging

1 clip

1 user manual

1 pouch

3 pair ear wings

3 pair ear buds of various sizes

3 pair ear hooks

1 usb charging cable

For detailed product specification, please check the Amazon site. Capturing some of my observations and opinion about the product here.

Pouch: I was worried about the quality of the pouch until I got the product. The pouch is hard enough to protect the product and hold some of the accessories.

Charging: First charging took almost an hour and a half. The only challenge was to open the cover of the USB charging port. Once charged, battery lasted for almost 4 hours and 30 minutes close to the 5 hours claimed in the product description.

Pairing: Tried pairing the headset with various devices such as, Lenovo K4, Motorola X2, Apple MAC book pro. Pairing was always smooth. Most of the bluetooth products are now designed to connect to two or more devices. I could pair this headset only to one device at a time.

(26 Sep 2016 Update on multiple connections: Today, suddenly, I could connect the headset to two devices simultaneously. My Mac Book running OS X El Capitan and Lenovo phone running Marshmallow. Even though the voice was breaking, I could pick a call on the headset while watching a video on the Mac. The voice from video paused and I got the ring tone on the headset. After the call was disconnected, instead of voice from video, music started playing from Apple I tunes on Mac.)

Comfort: I have a problem with my ears. Most of the branded ear phones in the market usually do not stay in my ears. It just keeps falling down. So usually I have to change the ear buds to a smaller one make it stay in my ears. I faced the same issue with TAGG. But, the accessory kit had few pairs of ear buds and ear wings from which I could select the buds and wings that helped me secure the ear phones properly. Even at 150 gms., the ear phone felt light weight. The length of the cable between the earphones are perfect. The clip helps to securely fix the headset to your dress.

Audio: Audio performance was good enough to enjoy the music and watch movies. Have attended only few calls using the headset. During all these calls, the voice was clear on the receiving side.

Material: The plastic attracts a lot of dust. See the pictures.

I would say this headset is a good buy at a price range of INR 1500 – 2000.

After a disappointing episode with the Plantronics backbeat 903, I was in search of a stereo headset.
