It is high time authorities take steps to rejuvenate the Thuppanchira pond in Manjapra panchayat, Ernakulam district, Kerala.
The last time some work was done for this pond was in 2013-14 under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) scheme. If we go through the list of sanctioned jobs, it is evident that most of the expenses were set aside for water conservation (digging RWH pits) and for reviving vacant land. So why a pond was not rejuvenated completely?
